Sofia University was honored to participate in “One World, One Game, One Goal: Football as a Catalyst for Youth Mental Health and Well-Being,” an international event hosted by the United Nations Youth Office at United Nations Headquarters in New York.
As the only university featured among the event’s Spotlight Session contributors, Sofia University was recognized for its leadership in transpersonal psychology, embodied learning, whole-person education, and global mental health.
Representing Sofia University, Dr. Dorote Weyers-Lucci, Chair of the Doctor of Business Administration Program and Chair of Sofia’s Global Conference on Advancing Mental Health, presented “Embodied Psychology, Embodied Leadership: Sport, Rhythm, and Human Flourishing.” Her presentation highlighted how movement, mindfulness, rhythm, and sport can foster emotional regulation, resilience, authentic leadership, and a greater sense of belonging.
Following her presentation, Dr. Weyers-Lucci joined youth representative and mental health advocate Junyu (Steven) Chen for a fireside conversation exploring how embodied practices can empower young people to navigate challenges, strengthen resilience, and support lifelong well-being.
Sofia University’s participation reflects its ongoing commitment to advancing whole-person education and contributing to international conversations on mental health, leadership, and human flourishing.
