Justine Mastin, MA, LMFT is an educator, an author, and a compassionate leader. Justine ran a private therapy practice for ten years where she specialized in systemic and relational therapy. In 2024, she stepped back from this work to expand her focus to the system of the therapy industry by pursuing a doctorate in Visionary Practice and Regenerative Leadership at Southwestern College. Justine still acts as a mentor to emerging therapists as an AAMFT-Approved Supervisor.
Justine finds inspiration from stories and has written extensively on how stories can influence our lives. She cowrote The Grieving Therapist: Caring for yourself and your clients when it feels like the end of the world and Starship Therapise: Using therapeutic fanfiction to rewrite your life and has contributed to numerous texts in the Popular Culture Psychology series. Justine is a regular speaker at pop culture conventions and has given a TEDx talk. Justine embraces her own authenticity as an educator–her teaching incorporates storytelling, metaphor, and humor, to make challenging topics more engaging.
