Dr Gao got her Ph.D. in Arts. She is associate Professor and Master’s Supervisor at the Acting Department of Shanghai Theatre Academy. She is adjunct faculty in the Bilingual Ph.D. Program in Transpersonal Psychology at Sofia University. She has over 20 years of teaching experience in university education, also active as an actor and director. She is an Industry Mentor for the Psychology Program at Fudan University. She is a globally certified Feldenkrais Method Practitioner.

Performing arts research, Expressive Arts Therapy, Comparative body-mind studies of Eastern and Western traditions. research on Chinese traditional cultural aesthetics, and comparative studies of Eastern and Western philosophy and culture.
