Biography:

Guo Haiping, a native of Nanjing, is a contemporary artist, a pioneer of Chinese original art, the founder of the Nanjing Outsiders Studio, and the editor-in-chief of the “Original Art Series.” Since 2006, he has been dedicated to the discovery and research of original art created by mentally ill individuals in China, striving to transform the ecological landscape of Chinese culture through art. In 2010, he established China’s first art institution for mentally ill individuals—the Nanjing Original Art Center. In 2014, he successively founded community-based original art studios in Jianye District and Gulou District of Nanjing. He has published works including “Escaping the Labyrinth of the Mind,” “Sunbathing: An Artistic Journey Spanning Two Decades,” “I Am Ill, Therefore I Am,” and “Notes on Chinese Primitive Art.”

郭海平,南京人,当代艺术家,中国原生艺术拓荒者,南京界外者工作室创办人、“原生艺术丛书”主编。自2006年开始从事中国精神病人原创艺术的发掘和研究,努力用艺术改造中国文化的生态。2010年创办中国首家精神病人艺术机构一一南京原形艺术中心,2014年开始先后在南京市建邺区和鼓楼区创办社区原生艺术工作室。已出版《走出心理的迷宫》、《晒太阳:跨越二十年的艺术行动》、《我病故我在》、《中国原生艺术手记》等。
