Dr. Fadi Muheidat is a Core Faculty member in the Master of Science in Computer Science program at Sofia University and a Professor of Computer Science and Engineering whose expertise spans artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, health informatics, software engineering, data science, and digital health. His research focuses on developing intelligent, data-driven solutions that improve healthcare delivery, clinical decision-making, aging in place, and eldercare technologies through the integration of artificial intelligence, wearable devices, patient-reported outcomes, and interoperable health data.
His scholarly interests include cybersecurity and privacy, digital health, federated learning, predictive analytics, the Internet of Things (IoT), and the responsible application of emerging technologies to address complex societal challenges. His research has been published in leading journals and conferences, including highly cited work on IoT security and privacy.
Throughout his academic career, Dr. Muheidat has taught a broad range of undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Science and Engineering, including programming, software engineering, computer organization, embedded systems, computer networking, artificial intelligence, machine learning, digital design, computer architecture, and a comprehensive cybersecurity curriculum encompassing information assurance, cyber defense, digital forensics, applied cryptography, and cyber-attacks.
He has developed and assessed curricula aligned with program learning outcomes, incorporated project-based and active learning strategies, and leveraged instructional technologies to support face-to-face, hybrid, and online instruction.
His teaching philosophy emphasizes critical thinking, experiential learning, and helping students develop the technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills required for academic and professional success.
