Dr. John D. Jinkner is a seasoned educator, researcher, and transportation expert with over 20 years of university teaching experience and 20 years in corporate leadership at CSX Transportation. He currently teaches Operations Management, Business Statistics, Business Research, Business Finance, and related courses worldwide. His research focuses on applied econometrics in freight transportation, including proprietary dynamic rail freight rate algorithms, freight flow analysis, and Benefit-Cost Analyses (BCAs) that have helped secure over $22 million in infrastructure grants. At CSX, he designed the industry’s public pricing structure and led high-stakes data projects involving over $1 billion in revenue. Dr. Jinkner has extensive international experience, having taught and led operations in Uzbekistan, China, and Kyrgyzstan. A former U.S. Army Airborne Ranger, he is passionate about bridging theory and practice through experiential learning, simulations like Capsim Capstone, and preparing students for ethical leadership in global business.
