Deeann Bruno, MAEd, MATP | Sofia University

Deeann Bruno began facilitating adult growth while serving in the United States Coast Guard (USCG). After retiring with almost 27 years of service she started her educational journey. While completing her B.S., Deeann returned to the USCG to teach as a contract employee. Her teaching career with the USCG lasted over 10 years; teaching at the leadership academy as well as traveling around the USCG to teach how to teach as well as how to design curriculum.

Deeann’s vocational goal is to help people bloom where they’re planted and believes that teaching is a dance between communicating the curriculum which has been designed to fill some need and engaging the student who is exposed to the material. There should be mutual agreement between the teacher and student about the course objectives with mutual respect shown in order to achieve the curriculum’s mutual purpose.
