Position Overview:

As a member of the Academic Affairs Office, this knowledgeable individual is responsible for providing key support to the Provost. This role also effectively represents the Academic Affairs and Student Services offices and assists Academic Deans, Program Chairs, DSO, Instructional Design, Admissions, and Marketing. These responsibilities include managing various Academic Affairs and Student Services activities, organizing residential course schedules, providing administrative support, developing and project managing University workflows, and supervising classroom managers, amongst others. While onsite at Sofia’s Costa Mesa campus or virtually, this individual will serve as a general point of contact for Academic Affairs and will provide a highly welcoming and supportive presence for faculty, staff, and students, ensuring they receive the support and assistance they need. This position will accomplish all assigned roles and responsibilities in a highly collaborative fashion, liaising with various offices and faculty/staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Provost in various academic activities to include University-wide communications, reports, and presentations
  • Work closely with Department Chairs to support course scheduling, program reviews, and workflow deadlines
  • Manage Classroom Managers, including onboarding, supervising, and scheduling at both Palo Alto and Costa Mesa campuses
  • Work with Department Chairs to update department websites and faculty profiles
  • Update Academic Affairs websites and SharePoint sites
  • Maintain academic calendar and provide support for departmental program reviews and assessments
  • Maintain calendars and contact lists, schedule meetings, one-on-ones, and other events, provide support for meetings as requested
  • Communicate with other staff members on behalf of Provost as requested

  • Assist the Dean of Student Services with Coordinating Student Services events, including student orientations, Intensives and Seminars, commencement, and other student activities, in-person and virtual

  • Establish and maintain appropriate student services records and files
  • Review and revise distribution of materials for students by email and materials posted on campus bulletin boards

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant administrative experience, preferably academic
  • Highly motivated self-starter with strong analytical, organizational, technical, and problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot complex issues and implement systemic solutions

Position Overview:

The Vice President Administration & Chief Financial Officer (VPA & CFO) provides strategic senior leadership for the administrative and financial operations of the University.  The Vice President (VP) serves as a senior member of the University management team, reporting directly to the President.  The VP plays a central role in the short-term and long-term development of the University’s infrastructure and facilities.

The VPA & CFO Officer will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling designated administrative and financial-related activities of the University.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting directly to the President, the VP provides leadership, direction and assessment for designated administrative and financial services.
  • Manage Finance, Financial Aid, Administration and Facilities Departments.
  • Additional administrative tasks related to IT and HR in partnership with the President.

  • Previous administrative and CFO experience and knowledge of financial aid is highly desirable.

Position Overview:

The Department of Global DBA Programs in Transpersonal Leadership at Sofia University is developing an open adjunct faculty pool for the continued development and integration of the domestic (hybrid) and international (online) DBA courses and will fill positions on an as-needed basis. The Global DBA programs are migrating from a soft launch to active enrollment. This intentional growth requires the program to hire adjuncts for many DBA courses in the terminal degree program. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in teaching, leading domestic and international businesses, incorporating transpersonal psychology, change and transformation business tools, systems thinking, candid self-assessment, and humility into courses. Candidates may need to teach either online and/or on campus at the Sofia University Costa Mesa or Palo Alti campuses. Examples of some of the course titles include Quantitative and Qualitative Research and Business Opportunities; Critical Thinking and Business Communication; and Leadership by Design.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and teach on campus at the Costa Mesa or Palo Alto, CA campuses and online through asynchronous and synchronous approaches during year-round terms. The international programs often required teaching online on weekends.
  • Participate in departmental faculty activities, as necessary, including regular faculty meetings.
  • Assist in global and domestic student assessment activities.

Position Overview:

The MBA Department at Sofia university are seeking adjunct faculty with a strong ability to facilitate learning for our students in all areas of business administration. Areas of focus include and are not limited to Business Communications, Decision Making, Business Ethics, Business Law, Finance, Operations, Marketing, and Information Systems. Additional topic areas include data analytics, AI in Business, global team and business leadership, change management, transpersonal psychology, organizational development, and organizational behavior.

Responsibilities:

Depending on student demand, teach 10-week quarterly courses with online and residential components.
For evidential activities, faculty must be on campus at either Palo Alto or Costa Mesa locations and must facilitate on-campus materials focused on student-centered learning three times per quarter. The schedule is preset by the program.
Online-only classes can be taught remotely. Synchronous calls during the quarter are required for online courses.
Build positive and supportive relations focused on student success while maintaining policy and regulations.
Facilitate constructive learning by following procedures and deadlines set by the program and University.
Develop new courses and/or add relevant and timely resources to courses for the business programs.
A professional, collaborative, and team-oriented approach is necessary while working with the Department Chair and colleagues in the community.
Participate in monthly program meetings.
Support APA standards of scholarship.

Qualifications:

A terminal degree in a relevant field, preferably a DBA or a PhD in Business, entrepreneurship, or leadership.
A minimum of 3 years of graduate-level teaching experience required.
7-10 years of relevant business experience in business administration, organizational leadership, organizational development, and other relevant business-related fields.
Demonstrated executive leadership in for-profit or not-for-profit leadership preferred.
Familiarity with best practices for student-centered learning models.
Experience with a Learning Management System software for facilitating online classes, Canvas preferred.

Position Overview:

The MACP department at Sofia University is developing an open adjunct faculty pool for several courses and will fill positions on an as needed basis. Our program is growing and so is our need to hire adjuncts for many MACP courses including MFT and PCC specialization courses. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in counseling psychology with exposure to teaching and incorporating psychology, diversity sensitivity, and humility into courses. Candidates may need to be available to begin teaching on short notice either asynchronously online and/or at 2x/year 10-day residential intensives occurring in Southern CA at the Costa Mesa campus. Example of some of the course titles are Group Dynamics, Psychopharmacology, Brain Functioning & Severe Mental Health, Assessment Appraisal and Testing, Psychopathology, Approaches to Trauma Law & Ethics, Career Counseling, Research Methods, etc.

 Responsibilities:

  • Teach courses at a Low Res 10-day intensive in Costa Mesa, CA and/or online 10-week asynchronous year-round quarters

Position Overview:

Those serving in the position of adjunct faculty in Sofia University’s Masters in Transpersonal Psychology have backgrounds in psychology, sociology, philosophy, theology and/or counseling education and share transpersonal values. The position mostly requires online hybrid synchronous/asynchronous teaching. The time commitment ranges from teaching individual quarters up to teaching four quarters every year. The courses available to teach range from specific Transpersonal subjects to the Capstone Thesis and projects.

Position Overview:

The MSCS department at Sofia University is seeking Adjunct Faculty. Candidates need to be available to teach on site at our Palo Alto or Costa Mesa Campus, on weekends and online. Areas of teaching include Theoretical Computer Science and Mathematics: Algorithms, Automata, Discrete Mathematics, Statistics as well as areas of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, including Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Robotics, Data Visualization, Data Science and related topics. Understanding Quantum Computing is a plus. All courses are at Graduate Level.

Candidates must be well versed in Learning Management Systems, Canvas in particular, and be able to lecture in person and via teleconference. Candidate must be able to produce high quality learning materials, slides, syllabi, and be able to produce recorded lectures and talks.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach courses on campus and online in 10-week asynchronous year-round quarters
  • Participate in departmental faculty activities, as necessary, weekly staff meetings
  • Assist in assessment activities
  • Prepare student centered learning for quality face-to-face or asynchronous online teaching
  • Work closely with the Department Chair and department colleagues
  • Participate in faculty orientation and technology trainings
  • Respond to student inquiries in a timely manner
  • Provide substantive and ongoing feedback to students Meet with individual students about course materials on demand
  • Schedule optional videoconference meetings for classes throughout the quarter

  • Travel as required to campus and other locations

Qualifications:

  • Earned MSCS degree from a regionally accredited institution and min. 3 years teaching experience required
  • 1 year teaching experience and relevant professional experience
  • At least two years teaching experience required on an LMS platform such as Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, etc.
  • Familiarity with best practices for effective adult instructional practices, flipped classroom, student centered learning modules, and the multi-intelligence model of learning
  • Ability to manage questions and critical responses to materials, text, and layout of courses in a positive, productive, forward moving way
  • Ability to contain and model professional boundaries in the classroom both in person and online
  • Be highly competent in social, relational, and emotional responses that go along with academic competency to teach in the MSCS field
  • Technological aptitude and ability to acquire new skills quickly
  • Professionalism and ability to work with faculty and students in a respectful manner, honor all diversity and identity across the board at the University
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills Experience working with international students a plus.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering

Position Overview:

Those serving in the position of adjunct faculty in Sofia University’s Ph.D. in Transpersonal Psychology in Chinese have backgrounds in psychology, sociology, philosophy, theology and or counselling and education and share transpersonal values. Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual for an adjunct to full-time faculty position who has a Doctorate in Education and a Professional Clinical Counseling License. The ideal candidate will possess 5+ years’ experience working in an agency and/or private practice as a licensed professional. Additionally, familiarity with the CACREP accreditation process to help the MA in Counseling Psychology department work towards achieving this status in the next 3-5 years. Experience teaching courses in person an online with Canvas, including but not limited to, Research for MACP students, Assessment Appraisal and Testing, and Career Counseling are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:

Teaching:

  • Develop, or teach existing, engaging and informative online, asynchronous courses in Research, Assessment Appraisal and Testing, and Career Counseling at the MA In Counseling Psychology graduate level.
  • Employ innovative teaching methodologies to enhance student learning and engagement i.e. reverse classroom experiential exercise, student led discussions, presentations of material.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students to facilitate their academic and professional growth using a student performance rubric.


Advising and Mentoring:

  • Advise and mentor graduate students pursuing degrees in counseling od related fields.
  • Provide academic and career guidance to students to support their success in the program and beyond.


Program Development and Accreditation:

  • Become the point person to work closely with CACREP standards to meet accreditation requirements by January, 2026.
  • Assist with the CACREP accreditation process by ensuring program compliance with 2024 accreditation standards and requirements.
  • Continue development and enhancement of counseling programs and performance measurement rubrics within the department.


Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Education (Ed.D.) with a focus on counseling or related field.
  • Professional Clinical Counseling license.
  • Experience teaching graduate-level courses, preferably in Research, Assessment Appraisal and Testing, and Career Counseling.
  • Knowledge of the CACREP accreditation process and experience with program development and evaluation.
  • Knowledge of Humanistic and Transpersonal Psychology theory and application of it to engage students and clients.
  • Strong clinical skills and experience providing counseling services.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education, curriculum, and counseling.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students in a dynamic academic environment.
