Toby is excited to be on the faculty at Sofia University where he can bring his expertise in teaching, graduate programs, marketing and in online modalities in the classes that he teaches. He is passionate about helping students and his focus is always on improving students at the graduate level and helping them to seek their new career or pivoting their career.
Toby is currently the Vice Provost for Graduate Programs at Santa Clara University (SCU). Toby assumes a pivotal role in spearheading key responsibilities, including oversight of recruiting, marketing, branding, and the development of innovative programs.
Additionally, he is currently an instructor in Santa Clara University’s Department of Marketing, where he teaches both undergraduate and MBA students in business communication courses. Overall, Toby has over 20 years of higher education experience in both private and public universities.
Toby’s influence expands into multiple spheres, where he currently serves as a Chair of the Graduate Deans Network of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities, and Chair of the Advisory Council for SEED Global Education. His community engagement is further exemplified through his roles as a Board Member, Secretary, and Chair of the Fundraising Committee for Veggielution, a local non-profit, and as the Head of the Bay Area Alumni Group for American University, and Board Member for the American University Alumni Board.
In his personal time Toby enjoys living in the Bay Area and going on hikes, seeing the beaches and spending time with his husband and his mini dachshund.
