Meet the Team

Kaila Miller

Dissertation Assistant

When I was in kindergarten, I was convinced I was going to grow up and become a “Person who helps others solve their problems peacefully” vs. a firefighter or a teacher. Now that I am a mom to four, I have learned that my passion is less about peace (4 kids, remember, so it’s peaceful only when they sleep) and more about how we get up after life serves us happenings that maybe aren’t “peaceful”. I am a lover of humanity and all its brokenness. It is in our brokenness that we have a great opportunity to rebuild. My motto is: be the type of person you want to see in the world.

I am a Master of Art in Counseling Psychology student. I am in my first quarter. But every day I am one step closer to actualizing my dream of becoming an MFT. But I won’t stop there. I will be continuing on and getting my PhD with my dissertation topic around healing trauma through art. I recently finished writing a book titled, Am I Changed? It is a memoir about a therapeutic boarding school. I can relate to most of you in this program because I know how it feels to pour your heart and soul into a project and have it materialized into words on a page. I am here to support you on your path through your dissertation process, from FORMS to a reminder that you can do it. I support you!
