Dear Sofia Community,
As part of Sofia University’s 50th Anniversary Values Initiative, the theme for July and August is Service and we’re focusing on providing hygiene kits for two agencies, Someone Cares Soup Kitchen and HomeFirst, Where Homelessness Ends.
Both agencies assist the homeless in our Palo Alto and Costa Mesa communities. This month, we are encouraging everyone to take part in the service project by donating travel size items and/or assisting in assembling the hygiene kits.
How can you participate?
1. Donate specific travel size items.
The following links per campus have the items that are needed by the agencies. Feel free to shop on those links or at the store of your choice. Ship the items to a campus (Ship Attn: Sofia Community Project) or bring them to campus on your class days.

Due Date for arrival of items: Friday, August 1, 2025
2. Volunteer at the Costa Mesa or Palo Alto campus on the following dates and assist in the assembly of the kits.
Dates:
- Sunday, July 27, 2025 – Hours: 12:00pm – 3:00pm
- Sunday, August 3, 2025 – Hours: 12:00pm-3:00pm
Any availability of volunteer time during the following dates and times will be appreciated.
