Key Benefits & Community Impact
Students have described intensives as transformative extended learning time with beloved faculty and cohortmates. Intensives, both in-person and virtual, are profoundly necessary to cultivate the tools of therapeutic presence. In addition, students will get exposure to mandated educational content required for multiple state licensing boards. Each cohort will have opportunities to bond and participate in extracurrilcular activites, with the option of exploring local restaurants, sites, and experiences adjacent to the campus.
MACP Intensive:
Our MACP program features immersive 10-day intensives held during both in the Spring (as a virtual Zoom) and Fall (in person, on the Costa Mesa Campus) quarters. These meaningful, academic gatherings are an intersection of clinical, personal, experiential, creative, emotional, and relational rigorous content. Expressive art, mindfulness, and somatic experientials are explored in preparation for utilizing holistic interventions as beginning therapists.
In addition to the clinical content, students have the opportunity to engage with the Sofia community through collaborative events and interaction across other programs also on campus. MACP Intensives are mandatory and students are required to complete all 6 throughout their 3 year program.
MATP-PhD Seminar:
Our Master of Arts and PhD in Transpersonal Psychology programs feature immersive, 5-day seminars held during both the Spring and Fall quarters. These meaningful, academic gatherings explore sacred themes at the intersection of transpersonal psychology and current global/ eco spiritual happenings.
Students engage deeply with the transpersonal community through rigorous discourse, collaborative participation, and direct interaction with faculty across both programs. MATP students are required to complete 2 Seminars in their program. PHD students are required to complete 4 Seminars in their program.
