Spring 2020 Seminar

Finding Our Voice in Times of Change

About this year’s seminar

Sofia University is excited to announce the theme for the Spring 2020 Seminar. Authenticity: Finding Our Voice in Times of Change

“The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.”

Carl Gustav Jung

Brene Brown, author of The Gifts of Imperfection, speaks about authenticity as a series of choices that we make on a daily basis. She explains, authentic people choose to show up, to be real, and to be honest. They are seen for who they are.

Being grounded in authenticity is particularly important when we are surrounded by inconsistency and change. It requires courage and fierce commitment to both ourselves and to our evolving community, especially in the midst of personal and global transition.

In this seminar, we will explore what it means to be authentic and to speak our truth when times are easy and more importantly when they are challenging. Our keynote speaker will be best selling author, Katie Hendricks, who has been an evolutionary catalyst, successful entrepreneur and body intelligence pioneer since the 1970s. She is also a graduate of the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology.

Come to the seminar meet your classmates, faculty, and staff who contribute to the ITP/Sofia community and its ideals.  Experience what makes Sofia a unique place where the epistemologies of our hearts and intellect are embraced, embodied, and held with equal importance.

The Authenticity Portal: Practical Magic in Action

Authenticity, being real, aligns us with life force and opens us to creativity and connection with others. Consider that every drama, written or performed, contains a lie at the center. The resolution that makes it either a tragedy or comedy depends on whether people get real or continue concealing. In this workshop, we’ll explore the HOW of authenticity and what keeps us from easily expressing authentically. We will learn simple yet powerful practices that help our nervous systems to thrive so that we embody and express authentic experience.
