We all want peace of mind. Life with its many challenges, unexpected problems, and uncertainties can often throw us off center and cause stress and strain. Counseling with a supportive listener who cares can be helpful and uplifting. CCHW is a safe and confidential place for you to receive help in working through life’s many issues.

Welcome:

The Community Center for Health and Wellness (CCHW) on the Sofia University campus has been has been serving the Bay Area communities through providing quality psychotherapy and counseling services since 1976. Whether you are seeking in-depth, long-term psychotherapy or short-term counseling for immediate life problems, you will find the help you need at CCHW. We provide support to our communities in an integrated and holistic way.We do our best to work with your schedule by offering appointments from morning to early evening, Monday through Saturday. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or if you would like to make an appointment.

CCHW has accessible route, parking, and restrooms. Our facility complies with Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards (UFAS).

Mission:

To be an innovative and model counseling center that offers professional traditional and transpersonal psychotherapy and counseling services to the San Francisco Bay Area communities and provides excellent training and supervision to psychotherapy and counseling graduate students.

Our Community:

CCHW welcomes the rich diversity of our community’s racial and ethnic backgrounds, religious and political affiliations, and sexual orientations. We are not affiliated with any religious or spiritual organizations.

Services:

CCHW provides short-term and long-term psychotherapy and counseling services. Our counselors work with children, adolescents, adults, and groups. Our professional services are offered on a sliding scale.


Our counselors are from psychology graduate programs at Sofia University and other graduate programs throughout the United States. They have been selected by the Clinical Director based on competency. They are supervised by licensed psychologists and marriage and family therapists, and adhere to all the laws and ethics governing the practice of psychotherapy and counseling.

Our therapists come from psychology graduate programs throughout California and have been selected based on their competency and compassion. The staff is closely supervised by licensed psychologists and marriage and family therapists and adheres to all laws and ethics governing the practice of psychology. Research has shown that the most important part of therapy is the positive and effective relationship you enjoy with your therapist. Our staff will work with you on what is important to you.


Groups

Community Center for Health and Wellness

Now offering Support Groups through the Sofia Counseling Center, Palo Alto, CA.

These groups are limited to eight participants. Pre-registration is required.
